Laser Frenectomy Care For Infants And Children

Precise, Gentle, And Without Sedation

Bright dental clinic with colorful chairs, dental chairs, and tools in a modern treatment room

A frenectomy releases tight oral tissue — a frenum — so the tongue and lips can move the way they need to. At Bloomy's Laser Dentistry we perform it with advanced CO2 laser technology, in our office, in a few minutes, with no sedation required. Your baby is returned to you for feeding and comfort right away.

CO2 Laser

Precision

Our technology

Why we choose a CO2 laser

Unlike a scalpel or scissors, the CO2 laser releases the restrictive tissue precisely while minimizing trauma to the area around it. It seals small blood vessels as it works, which means minimal bleeding, excellent visibility, less swelling, and a lower risk of infection.

Not Every Tie Needs Treatment

Many babies and children have a tongue tie or lip tie that never affects feeding, speech, breathing, or oral function. We only recommend a release when a thorough evaluation shows that the tethered tissue is genuinely causing functional concerns. Our goal is not to treat a tongue tie — it is to improve your child's function and quality of life.

Start to finish

Three stages,

one clear plan

01

Initial Consultation

A review of pregnancy, birth, and feeding history, a detailed oral exam, clinical photographs when appropriate, and an honest answer about whether your child is a candidate.

02

The Day Of The Procedure

Topical anesthetic for comfort, parents invited to swaddle and soothe, the release performed with our CO2 laser in a few minutes, and your baby back in your arms to feed.

03

Healing & Aftercare

Stretching exercises we demonstrate in person so you feel confident at home, plus follow-up visits to monitor healing and answer whatever comes up.

A team approach

We work with

your care team

The best outcomes come from working together. Depending on your child's needs we may recommend collaborating with lactation consultants, myofunctional therapists, speech-language pathologists, and bodywork providers — often before the procedure, not only after it.

Inside our office

A look around

before you come in

Most of the worry before a frenectomy is the not knowing — what the room looks like, whether you can hold your baby. Our Ellisville office is one bright treatment area, a chair you're welcome to share with your child, and a quiet corner to feed afterward.
